It’s been a tough week. Farrell PTSD and now politics on the EMB. Where is my safe space.

It’s on an industrial estate but I did once see a river of urine courtesy of one of the patrons.

Per BBC:
"England have called up 20-year-old rising star Henry Pollock for a three-day training camp as Tom Curry recuperates following Saturday's win over France.
Back row Pollock has enjoyed a breakthrough season with Northampton after playing a key role in England Under-20s' World Cup triumph in the summer.
Curry, who played the entirity of England's opening two Six Nations games, is following a modified recovery schedule after having surgery on his hip last year.
He and second row George Martin are continuing rehabilitation alongside their international team-mates as they prepare for the Six Nations meeting with Scotland on 22 February.
Both Curry and Martin are expected to resume full training next week in the build-up to the Calcutta Cup contest.
Exeter wing Immanuel Feyi-Waboso, who is in contention for the end of the tournament after opting against surgery on a shoulder dislocation, is also in camp on Thursday as he works towards his comeback.
Bath's Ted Hill is providing back-row cover alongside Pollock in a 28-strong group that includes Alex Mitchell and Harry Randall as the only two scrum-halves.
Raffi Quirke and Jack van Poortvliet both suffered injury setbacks prior to the start of the Six Nations, while Ben Spencer has slipped down the pecking order."

Re: Team for Scotland
Interesting how much this goes against some of the talk on here about lacking top carriers.

England are top of metres per carry, tackle-breaks per carry and line-breaks per carry. Ireland more efficient with turning tackle-breaks in to line-breaks, but that's the only area anyone are ahead of England and that's having faced (easily) the two best teams so far.
Encouraging stuff. It would be interesting to know if there's any useful way of analysing why that last step in efficiency isn't there, but we've been up against very good defences. Now I'm going to go and post the same image on the SMB except to be sad about it.

Is there any way of seeing this for the AIs or last year's 6N? And where the hell can anyone got to get stats these days?!Mikey Brown wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2025 8:25 am Interesting how much this goes against some of the talk on here about lacking top carriers.

No idea of the source for these I’m afraid.
I just see pictures on the internet and take it as gospel.

Dombrandt back in the squad cause he played well against Sarries 2 1/2s.

Coles and Pollock back in too - in place of Langdon and Lozowski.Epaminondas Pules wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2025 7:00 pm Dombrandt back in the squad cause he played well against Sarries 2 1/2s.

Re: Team for Scotland
I’m still prepared to see how Dombrandt gets on at test level, T Willis deserves first shot but I see no issues with having a different style of 8 so long as he has a lineout capability and some ballast and the accompanying 6 is chosen with care. In the case of Dombrandt playing alongside a big carrying 6 like CCS might be a nice balance?Epaminondas Pules wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2025 7:00 pm Dombrandt back in the squad cause he played well against Sarries 2 1/2s.

Re: Team for Scotland
I'd guess that Dombrandt is an alternative on a 6:2 bench to CSS and B Curry.

Re: Team for Scotland
Sounds like a bit of a random thought, but I could actually see Dombrandt captaining the A squad. I could also see him putting in a MOM performance and then getting a recall to the senior 23 only to fall a bit flat again with a bench appearance.
Barbeary’s the only 8 in the 25 called up for the A squad and is possibly a little lucky to be there having not been in particularly stellar from so I’m definitely not against Dombrandt doing it. I’m just not sure it would serve any particularly useful purpose beyond winning the A game.

Come to think of it, another player who can join Seb Atkinson in the hard done by section is Fitz Harding. From a form PoV, he’s better than Barbeary and certainly more consistent and durable.
